This jam is part of a three-day immersion in Contact Improvisation on May 14–15–16. The program includes several workshops, a jam, a conversation table, and a performance evening. You are welcome to join one or multiple parts of the program!

This jam

A CI jam is not a class. It is an open dance encounter in which you step into a shared dance space where people of all levels can train, play, practice, and dance together through the principles of Contact Improvisation.

What you should know about a jam:

A Contact Improvisation jam is a context where all levels meet, and where, as a group, you create a safe space to practice and further explore CI.
The physical foundation of CI is playing from our movement instinct, opening our movement possibilities while sharing contact and weight with one or more dance partners.
You improvise, discover, dance, communicate, listen, expand your awareness, and enjoy.
You take part in creating an instant composition of movement in the studio, together with the other people in the group

Level of experience

Level X: everyone, whether you have a lot or very little experience, is welcome. A Contact Impro jam is an open dance floor where all levels come together to train, play, and dance through the principles of Contact Improvisation. Some movement training or dance experience is recommended.
