In this workshop we will share physical spaces between bodies, offer platforms and spaces, and use and transform them. We will be using spaces and platforms as passages, discovering and reimagining them. Moving in, out, through, over and because of them.

We will practice between listening and initiating, leading and following. Aiming to arrive at a state where both are happening at the same time.

This workshop is part of a three-day immersion in Contact Improvisation on May 14–15–16. The program includes several workshops, a jam, a conversation table, and a performance evening. You are welcome to join one or multiple parts of the program!

Practical

Wear clothes in which you can move easily, without sharp or metal parts. Bring an bottle of water, a pair of light knee pads and a light lunch.

Level of experience

Level X: everyone is welcome. During this 3-day immersion, we want to create an environment where we can collectively broaden and deepen our practice, experience, and perspective on contact improvisation. Both beginner and experienced contact improvisation dancers are welcome and will find inspiration, deepening, and engaging reflection here. Some movement training or dance experience is recommended.
