What to expect. Inspiring Thursday evenings that start with a big focus - and certain playfulness - on movement research and end in dance.
In movement, we experience our anatomy. How does our body organise itself? What is the logic behind it? How can we apply this to our dancing. Well, we will experience this in practice.
Among other things, we play with muscle tension and the balance between strength and release. We experience our arsenal of movement qualities, experiment with time & space and explore how these also influence our dancing body.
Each session starts from a physical focus, zooms in on a movement principle or body part and works towards play, improvisation and creation. Always with the aim of getting to know our musculoskeletal system more deeply and expanding our possibilities for expression and movement.
Işıl is particularly inspired by anatomy, kinesiology, Alexander Technique, Bartenieff Technique and Laboratory Technique. Her starting point is that each person has a unique way of moving and her goal is therefore to introduce everyone to that highly personal expression, to enrich their movement vocabulary from there.
