In this weekend special, we approach dance not as a defined technique of movement, but rather as a dynamic form of communication that focuses on the social aspect and ‘making meaning together’. This is based on the desire to practice dance as an extension of ourselves rather than training it as a defined skill.
The focus this weekend is on exploring our own dance archive and movement vocabulary. The “archive” we will work with as dancers is not tightly organised and certainly not linear, but rather open to new influences and changes. So throughout this weekend special, we will open ourselves up to different archives and their layering, both in ourselves and in others: How does our dancing body move? Has it always been this way? What is highly personal and immutable to our identity and what is changeable? How does that translate into a social context on the dance floor? We will give all these questions and inputs voice and a place within a performative and creative context.
During this workshop, Lander will share suggestions, which we will explore together. Time and space will be shaped together, giving a place to everyone's unique being and personal development.
