Is it possible to learn a simple etching technique in one single morning, which you can then develop in depth later on? Short answer: yes it is! We use beverage cartons for etching and discover the various steps involved in creating a real intaglio print.

We will also experiment with ornaments and patterns, while drawing inspiration from nature, folk art and art history to give shape and meaning to our etchings.

Initially, we will work individually, but who knows, we may end up with one large collective intaglio print to finish it all off!

Practical

Bring your own apron or work shirt. All other materials are provided and included in the course fee.

Good to know: from 6 to 11 July, you can enjoy a delicious lunch ‘with a view’ every afternoon on the iconic rooftop of OPEK. Bring your own lunch or buy soup and bread for €2.00 and join other Wisperlingen around the table. We hope to see you there!

Level of experience

Level 1: this is an introduction for beginners, but more experienced printers are welcome as well.
