The autumn 'FLUX-atelier' series focuses on typography, with one Friday a month dedicated to exploring a different aspect of typography.
Here is the December 'FLUX-atelier': typographic characters
What happens when you use letters differently? We start with letters, but soon let them go. By cutting, rotating, enlarging and combining them, new shapes emerge. Sometimes they resemble figures, sometimes patterns, and sometimes something in between.
We create shapes and characters using typography as our material: not to be read, but to be looked at. What works well together? What clashes? When does something start to take on a character of its own? A workshop to play with form and discover what emerges when you don’t take letters too literally.
Inspired by this 'FLUX-atelier'? Then be sure to check out the other ateliers.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
