The 'Buurtatelier' is open to anyone who wants to connect with others in an artistic way, totally free of charge. It is not a “traditional” course, in that sense that it's rather a moment to come together and work on a specific theme or technique (e.g. portrait, colour, collage or landscape).

The focus of this atelier? Textiles. So bring all the fabrics you have at home and, if you like, your own sewing kit. WISPER will also provide lots of materials.

As usual, we are providing examples for inspiration and start with a short joint warm-up exercise to get acquainted. After that, we'll continue in groups and eventually you will work at your own level and pace.

This 'Buurtatelier' is guided by Anisa El Margai. Together with Marissa, our educational staff member for Visual Arts, she will be there to provide guidance, help and support, if necessary.

Important note: normally, the 'Buurtateliers' take place on Sunday afternoons, but during the summer week, it will exceptionally take place on a Friday evening!

Practical

Bring all the fabrics you have at home and, if you like, your own sewing kit. WISPER will provide lots of materials.
This course is free of charge; you are still welcome to make a voluntary contribution for the materials, you will use during the course.

Level of experience

Level X: everyone is more than welcome, regardless of experience or prior knowledge.
