Ady Elzam and Mileen Borgonjon meet again in the contact improvisation studio, after two years of different, new chapters. They worked together for many seasons as co-teachers during weekly courses in Ghent, greatly enriching their dance practice. Time for a new dialogue.
Mileen is a dancer and performer, home in the field of improvised performance. CI for her is a passion and a source of inspiration for movement research as well as a platform to reflect about this biggest improvisation which is called life. She loves a dynamic, joyful entrance into the movement principles of this rich form, meeting our poetic beings along the way.
On her own path as a mover, dancer and performer she got inspired by different masters of instant composition, by Thai yoga massage, Gaga, Ido Portal Method, Playfight, and more.
Those who know Ady know that sessions with him overflow with fun and play. At the same time, they flirt with the boundaries of the familiar and the comfortable. The magic formula of learning: playing and going beyond what we already know.
Ady is naturally inquisitive and curious. He loves new challenges and goes deep into what he does. His dance path brought besides masters, exciting collaborations with several other dancers. His dance practice at this time deeply integrated the Ilan Lev Method. Much of his work and life vision and attitude draws from the richness of this method.
This workshop is part of a 4 day immersion into contact improvisation. From May 9th till 12th several facilitators will share their experience and inspiration on CI. The mornings focus on movement research from different angles. In the afternoons 2 teachers will co-teach, letting their languages and approaches meet and mix, creating together an environment to open and deepen our understanding, inspiration and practice of CI. Whether you are just beginning or you are a seasoned CI practitioner, you will find sessions that are accessible and inspiring for you ! On Friday, after the afternoon session, before the evening JAM, we will sit together, sharing questions and reflecting on topics related to CI.
