In this workshop we are going to experience and play with how movement passes through our body. Movements generated on our own, from inside out, from the ground up, from one body part to another, out into space. And movements generated from outside in, impulses coming from the contact to an other moving body. What are the pathways of movement in our bodies? How can we open up pathways? How can we reach our physical memory of pathways? How can we diversify pathways? How can we integrate more areas of the body to join the party? And in all this, how does that work when in physical contact with another person, sharing weight, moving through the studio? Let’s play, try out, ask questions and receive answers through our bodies, together in movement. Those who know Ady, know there will be a lot of playfulness and fun, combined with flirting with the edges of the known and comfortable places of meeting our moving bodies. You’re welcome to join the research and the party! In his practice and sessions, Ady sources a lot from the Ilan Lev Method. https://www.ilanlevmethod.nl/
This workshop is part of a 4 day immersion into contact improvisation. From May 9th till 12th several facilitators will share their experience and inspiration on CI. The mornings focus on movement research from different angles. In the afternoons 2 teachers will co-teach, letting their languages and approaches meet and mix, creating together an environment to open and deepen our understanding, inspiration and practice of CI. Whether you are just beginning or you are a seasoned CI practicioner, you will find sessions that are accessible and inspiring for you! On Friday, after the afternoon session, before the evening JAM, we make space to sit together, sharing questions and reflecting on topics related to CI.
