During this short try-out, you will be introduced to the world of waacking! Waacking is all about self-expression, freedom, emotional connection and unique performance.
The starting point: storytelling and performance through improvisation. Your creativity will be constantly stimulated. The aim here is for everyone to express themselves freely and uninhibitedly with unique, original and spontaneous movements.
As a dance and culture, it emerged in the 1970s in the club scene of the LGBTQ+ community. Waacking happened mostly to funk and disco music, in the clubs that were a safe space for all socially oppressed groups to express themselves freely. Waacking is inspired by Old Hollywood: as a dancer, you are a unique story and you bring your own legend to life while moving.
