For two Sunday mornings, we dive into the depths of dance improvisation and instant composition!

We open our senses and discover the different elements we need to achieve meaningful dance improvisation. We zoom in on different parameters such as our own dancing body, space, time and musicality and our connection with others.

We sharpen our sensitivity to move, listen and respond in the moment. Step by step, we get to the point where beautiful dancing composition occur in the moment. Play, openness and dancing pleasure are key!

For this workshop, Oona Van Aken bases herself on insights gained in the masterclasses of Maya M. Carroll, Julyen Hamilton, Matej Kejzar and Martin Sonderkamp, among others, as well as her own choreographic work.

Practical

Wear clothes in which you can move easily. We dance barefoot. Bring a bottle of water!

Level of experience

Level X: this course is open to dancers and movers of all levels, regardless of prior knowledge or dance experience!
