Waacking is all about self-expression, freedom, emotional connection and idiosyncratic performance. During this course, you will be introduced to the world of storytelling and performance through improvisation. Your own personal creativity is constantly stimulated. The aim here is for everyone to express themselves freely and uninhibitedly with unique, original and spontaneous movements.
As a dance and culture, it originated in the club scene of the LGBTQ+ community in the 1970s. Waacking happened mainly to funk and disco music, in the clubs that were a safe space for all socially oppressed groups to express themselves freely. Waacking is inspired by Old Hollywood: you are a walking story and bring your own legend to life in smells and colours.

Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
