The body doesn't lie.
Not on stage, and certainly not in movement theater. This isn't about pretending, but about empathizing, being, and becoming.
This time, Sarah focuses extra on in-depth tools for improvising on stage. The basic ingredients remain simple: your body, the space, time, and your imagination. We blend in experimentation in the form of images, themes, sounds, words, and each other. As a group, you learn to sense each other, respond to each other, and create group compositions through viewpoints and other improvisational scores.
You throw yourself into the fray, are surprised by what emerges on the spot and what we can build on to create exciting theatrical scenes. You will also discover your individual qualities as a mover/player.
We flirt with the line between dance and theater. Perfect for dancers who want to immerse themselves in the theatrical, or performers who want to increase their body awareness.
At the end, this series also ventures out in front of an audience. This is a particularly fascinating stage in our growth process as actors, dancers, and performers. We will find that audience at the WISPER presentation day in Ghent on June 6.
WISPER has several course locations at the DOK Noord site. The Danspunt studio's are one of them. Is it your first time here? Please come in time and make sure to read the information on www.wisper.be/doknoord first. Without these guidelines, it's easy to get lost here!
WISPER Gent is situated at the Dok Noord site. Make sure to read the information on our Dok Noord page beforehand because this place can be a bit of a maze when you first come here.
