WISPER Ghent has its own place on the Dok Noord site. At number 4D/001 you will find our permanent office, literature room, theatre hall, music studio and visual arts space. Besides that WISPER courses are also regularly held at De Expeditie and Danspunt. Either way, all the different locations are marked with yellow stars on the map below.
BY FOOT OR BY BIKE
There are several ways to reach the site by foot or by bike.
Our course locations and permanent office are closest to the entrance on Sint-Salvatorstraat. There is a passageway near the large metal gate on Sint-Salvatorstraat, specifically for cyclists and pedestrians, that leads you to our place in no-time. In the second passageway, between De Expeditie and Danspunt, Dok Noord is providing 75 roofed bike parking places.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
From Ghent St. Pieters station, take tram 4 (Gent Lange Steenstraat) and stop at Gent Heilig Kerst. From Ghent-Dampoort station, take bus 6 (P+R Muide) also to the 'Gent Heilig Kerst' stop. From there, it is a 5 minute' walk to our course locations and office. Check www.delijn.be for timetables!
BY CAR
From Antwerp-Kortrijk (highway E17) or Brussels-Ostend (highway E40), take the Ghent-Centre exit and follow “Alle Richtingen” (All Directions). Turn right at the traffic lights and follow the ring road R40 towards Ghent-Dampoort/Eeklo. At Oktrooiplein (roundabout at Gent-Dampoort station), take Afrikalaan and Koopvaardijlaan to Verapazbrug. Cross the bridge to reach Muidelaan: the entrance to the underground car parking is on your left. You can also enter the underground car parking from the other side if you are driving via Tolhuislaan and Doornzele (see map below).
From the car parking, it is a 2 minute walk to De Expeditie (building F). The parking zones around the Dok-Noord site are paid parking zones (even in the evening). Be sure to take this into account to avoid a fine!
WISPER GHENT (LITERATURE ROOM, THEATRE HALL, MUSIC STUDIO and VISUAL ARTS SPACE)
Our main spot on the Dok Noord site is located in the passage between De Expeditie and Danspunt. When you're standing in front of De Expeditie with your back towards Hal 16, the passage is on your right (it's the one with the many bicycle parking spots). The entrance is opposite from coffee bar WAY. You can also follow the signalisation towards 4D.
DE EXPEDITIE
De Expeditie is located in building F at the square opposite from Hal 16. Once inside you will find the rehearsal spaces of Victoria Deluxe on the first floor and a meeting room on the second floor. If needed, you can ask directions or any help at Circuscentrum on the ground floor. When your course takes place at De Expeditie, use the entrance in the passageway between De Expeditie and WISPER Ghent (see arrow in the picture below).
DOXTUDIO
When you enter the site from the waterside, walk through the indoor hall until you reach the first open square (with a few bars in the middle). Take the stairs or escalator on your right: DOXTUDIO is located on the first floor of the Dok Noord shopping centre, right next to the stairs.
DANSPUNT
The Danspunt studio's are in the building closest to Sint-Salvatorstraat. The entrance is around the corner opposite of the round dumpsters (see arrow in the picture below).
