Sarah Bostoen

Sarah Bostoen studied Dance Theatre at FHK in Tilburg, followed by educational training at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp. She has been working as a dancer and choreographer since 2010. As a dancer, she performed for a considerable time for the company United Cowboys (NL). She herself made numerous productions under her own company and did a residency at Metropolis in Copenhagen. She creates as a freelancer for Wit.h, De Figuranten, Hofpleintheater Rotterdam, Passerelle, Platform K, etc. Her work has toured both nationally and internationally at various festivals and theatres. Over the years, she formed her own language fuelled by a particular interest in psychoanalysis and Dadaism. Her work is characterised by pervasive abstraction, absurdity, oppressive atmospheres, darkness, vulnerability and at the same time energetic in expression with subtle humour here and there.
