We recently cleaned up our basement, which is now ready for use. A tidy, spooky basement calls for a spooky Halloween party, right? So here we are, welcome! Is it really that creepy down there or is it in fact not too bad? There is only one way to find out.
In this short course you will learn the basics of making a small zine (read: a simple, handmade magazine). It can explore a specific idea, tell a visual story, or even take the form of a short comic. There are no strict rules, except that everything has to be handmade or assembled.
You will receive a number of short and slightly longer assignments in which you will draw and work with collages. This workshop is not about being able to draw perfectly or truthfully, but about being able to tell stories in a simple, accessible and authentic way. And of course we will also have fun: drawing in the dark, coming up with stories about zombies who fall in love or calling all the monsters (why not?).
