In this theme workshop, we explore the element of "time" in dance improvisation and instant composition!
How many ways are there to start an improvisation? Do you feel the end of an improvisation approaching? Are there different chapters in an improvisation and, if so, can you play with them? And how do you know exactly how long something "should" take?
We open our senses and physically work with these questions. We sharpen our sensitivity to move, listen and respond in the moment. This results in improvised yet sophisticated dance compositions with a clear sense of timing and connection.
For this workshop, Oona Van Aken bases herself on insights gained in the masterclasses of Maya M. Carroll, Julyen Hamilton, Matej Kejzar and Martin Sonderkamp, among others, as well as her own choreographic work.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
