What is the story underneath our skin?
Which dance is passing through us? Where does it come from?
What happens when we step into the role of the performer? Do we experience ourselves, or each other, or a mystery that lays beyond space and time?
What are the words that stir us viscerally?
Join us for Confessions of a Body - a dance immersion into generous performative states.
Antoinette Helbing (DE/DK), Katha Löffler (AU/ES) and Mileen Borgonjon (BE) unite in this dance intensive, drawing on their shared fascination for the body as a means to express our human state. They invite us to unlock the potential of creating rich sensorial experiences by combining movement, voice, theater and composition.
Through shared physical and dance experiences, we’ll explore belonging, empathy, and togetherness. By tapping into pre-lingual states of being, we’ll discover the richness of letting our bodies tell the story before words do. Laughter somatics and unpredictable choreographies will invite us to engage with the uncontrollable, encouraging mistakes and spontaneity as integral parts of creative expression.
Mornings will focus on developing movement and dance skills and cultivating embodied presence, strengthening our ability to respond in the moment. The afternoons will offer a variety of creative practices, including vocal work, group improvisations, and nature-based explorations. Evenings will include possibilities for a group jam, open sharing of our work, watching a movie. Opportunities to integrate the day's discoveries. Moments that make us aware of ourselves as both creators and witnesses, both performers and spectators.
Confessions of a body is set in the heart of rural France, in Dordogne, at Larret en mouvement, a place surrounded by forest, river, and silence. An inspiring environment to meet each other as we dance, sweat, question, and marvel in the shared joy of exploring our creative potential, building connection, and deepening our practice.
Larret is a place of collective life, creation and reception, an eco-somatic refuge for all people. Contact mileen@wisper.be if you are interested in supporting the collective living by taking on additional household tasks during your stay (ca. 1h to 1h30 a day), in exchange for a reduced participation fee.
