This course is all about Ireland's rich and fascinating music history.

We don't just work with traditional Irish folk songs, but also explore the music of more contemporary pop and rock bands and singer-songwriters such as The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, The Pogues, Van Morrison, U2 ... All are undeniably part of Ireland's rich musical heritage and identity.

So get ready for a two-day session of making music together, singing or playing songs and arranging them. All under the enthusiastic guidance of Irish singer-songwriter Daithi Rua. We will learn by ear with lyrics but without scores.

Practical

Bring your own instrument. Amplified instruments such as electric guitar, or loud percussion instruments are not very suited for this course.

Level of experience

Level 2: you have basic experience as a singer (you can sing tonally and learn melodies by ear) OR as a musician (you can fluently play basic chords on your instrument).
