WISPER presents: the Co-Lab sessions, an open platform for musical creators! This free session is all about one thing: making, recording and producing music together. You'll meet new people who share your love of music. And all this on Valentine's Day!
Look, either you don't have a partner and you need this day to escape all the madness... Or you have a date in the evening and you plan to show up with a serenade written that very day. In either case, it's definitely worth coming along and celebrating love with other musical creators. Think of it as the musical counterpart to Married at First Sight: after a first meeting, you and the other participants in this course will dive straight into the studio.
We create a song that doesn't yet exist, with our own lyrics, music and sounds, which we develop into a real hit, banger track or crazy soundscape in just a few hours. Anything goes, and it all depends on the band or producer collective.
Don't let doubts hold you back, because experience isn't the most important thing here. We work together. So, have you just learned the first notes on your instrument, or have you mainly been singing in your shower until now? You're more than welcome! Whether you want to be a fly on the wall or a busy bee, we'll find your musical role in the whole thing as we go along. The important thing is that you come with a burning desire to make music, play and write, and collaborate with new people with all kinds of different influences and styles!
Our resident musician Reindert (saxophonist, songwriter and producer) is always on hand to keep things running smoothly, but the creative input comes from the participants themselves.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
