Are you crazy about synths, samplers and drum computers? Do you have homemade electronic/experimental instruments or a real modular system?
Would you like to try them out and exchange ideas with others? Then our free sound lab is for you!
In these sessions, we work with all kinds of electronic instruments, analogue or digital. Is your instrument your DAW? That's fine too!
The focus of each meeting is determined by the instruments and ideas that the participants bring to the table at the start.
We aim for an anything-goes vibe among musical allies, where you can experiment freely with soundscapes, ambient tracks, noise, but also techno, house, EDM or hip hop beats ... Together we'll search for sounds and rhythmic or melodic motifs in the moment.
Please note: this is not a course, but rather a jam session with electronic instruments. Active participation and experimentation are paramount. Facilitator Peter is mainly there to keep everything running smoothly and to provide technical support where necessary and possible.
Producer? Then be sure to check out our brand new CoLab sessions in February and May.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
