Zines are self-made small magazines, often with one specific theme. It's all about manual design - no digital tools in the zine-making process! In this course of two evenings, we make two of these zines. Storytelling (how to tell stories with images) is key!
The first evening we will work together and combine our drawings to create several zines. During this collaboration, you experience the power of associations - different for everyone - and the combination of word and image. You feel how words trigger your imagination - and the other way round!
The second evening we work on your very own personal zine, with its own storyline. With recurring visual elements, you create a strong and coherent zine in a short time.
We work with simple tools such as (coloured) pencil, marker and paper.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
