Ulla Hase is best known for her drawings, which stem from repetitive gestures. Most of her artworks are geometric with strong atmospheric values. Ulla Hase's precise, comprehensive work process combines the rational with the intuitive. She begins without external source material or preconceived idea of what the final result might be. She creates complex abstract works that ultimately take as their subject the process of their own creation. Even though her drawings are two-dimensional, they exhibit a strong sense of depth and movement through the different layers of lines she uses.
During this drawing weekend, you will explore the drawing process with Ulla. Through various exercises, you will be challenged to let go of predetermined ideas about what drawing is - or could be - and let yourself be guided by the gesture of drawing itself.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
