Welcome to our monthly DANCE JAM in Antwerp!
This gathering is open to dancers and movers of all levels. We meet while dancing in an open space to play, practice, polish, repeat and create together. Together, we explore different forms of movement improvisation, contact improvisation and group composition. The key to all this is playfulness!
Each session starts with a one-hour introduction in which some tools and principles are explained by a facilitator. This session will help us tune in with each other, with the group and find our way onto the dance floor together. We will dive into the principles of improvisation and connect them to musicality, group dynamics and imagination.
HOW IT WORKS:
The introductory workshop takes places from 2pm to 3pm, with the open jam space following between 3pm and 5pm, sometimes accompanied by live musicians. We encourage you to join us for both parts: you do so by registering via this page.
If you just want to come for the jam , you can also register via this page or you can just come at 3pm (be on time!) and pay a € 5 contribution for the studio on the spot (cash not possible).
