We humans sometimes tend to forget that we are part of nature. In our oversaturated lives, we can lose our sense of connection to trees, water, soil, and our other-than-human neighbours. This somatic deep-dive is meant to help us unplug and re-connect. We will use movement and dance to find connection and kinship with the land, engaging in outdoor exercises and work with natural materials.
As a daily foundation, we will work with breath, imaging, vocalisation, and simple movements to calm the nervous system and become more grounded and focused. This intensive workshop will also equip you and the other participants with improvisational tools to be able to generate movement, work with partners, and dance together in group compositions.
This is an invitation to slow down and be present so that effort leads not to exhaustion but to connection.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
