Contact improvisation: jam

A contactimpro jam is not a class. It is a dance encounter during which you are part of an open dance floor, where you can train, play, practice and dance with other people of all levels, guided by the principles of contactimpro.

What you need to know about a jam:

• A contactimpro jam is a context where all levels meet. Together as a group you create a safe place where you practice and (further) explore contactimpro.
• Contactimpro is about exploring physical laws and forces through movement and displacement through all levels of space, while being in physical contact with other dancers and sharing your weight with them.
• You improvise, discover, dance, communicate, listen, expand your awareness and enjoy.
• You step into creating an "instant composition" of movement in the dance studio along with the other people in the group.

The jam is part of a four-day immersion in contact improvisation from May 9 to 12. Several workshops, a conversation table and a dance jam are planned on those days. Welcome to one or more parts of the program!

Moreover, this contact improvisation jam is also part of the 2-weekly Friday evening jams that have been going on in Ghent for several years now. Everyone can participate, much or little experience. You don't have to register either.
