The Feldenkrais Method® uses gentle movements and focused attention to help people integrate new and more effective ways of living and moving. Feldenkrais is about 'learning to learn' with your own body.
Through gentle movement explorations, you gradually regain your own physical freedom. The goal: to experience a body that knows itself, by (re)learning to feel and gaining a new image of yourself.
With this new image, awareness and wiser body, we take action and experience a new sense of timing and space.
Each session highlights a part of the body and its capacity for movement in relation to the rest of the body. We work individually and in pairs. Sometimes we use touch to understand the body in different ways, and to experience dance and movement in new and surprising ways.
About bodywork at WISPER
Our bodywork approaches focus on taking time for recovery, renewal and gaining more insight into our body structure. This supports us in dancing and moving in a healthy way and, more generally, in integrating healthy movement patterns into our daily lives. Bodywork into movement will always bridge the gap between somatic approaches (i.e. anatomical-sensory approach) and the integration of this input into our dance and moving body.
