Our bodywork sessions focus on taking time for recovery, renewal and gaining a better understanding of our body structure. This helps us to dance and move in a healthy way and more generally: integrate healthy movement patterns into our daily lives. Highly recommended for every dancer and by extension for everyone!
For this series, Oona starts from the idea of "connection," in the broadest sense of the word. The concept of conne-x-ions is about making connections on different levels.
We look for connections in the body itself: how can we engage our whole body when we move, how can we fluidly go on/off balance, how can we connect movement and breathing ... But we also look for connections that transcend the merely anatomical: between body and mind, between body and imagination, between dancing body and music, space. We look for the connection with each other.
Keywords during each session are: grounding, expansion, flow and attention. Through an anatomical approach and focused bodywork, we look for ways to ground while moving and from that grounding to look for expansion. We then connect this grounding & expansion with flow and attention. Each session we deepen our dance potential step by step.
Those who have already taken classes with Oona know that you walk out of the studio refreshed, enriched, inspired and with a conscious body! Oona draws inspiration for this course from different traditions. Somatic practices such as Klein Technique™and Vijnana Yoga or the insights of Thomas Meyers (Anatomy Trains) and the Elemental Theory are certainly covered here.
