Benny Dekoker

Benny (he/him, they/them, 1991) took their first steps in the wonderful world of improvisational theatre somewhere in his late teens or early twenties (Benny has bad memory); and this during a WISPER workshop. Which was followed by another one, another one, another one and so on. More than 10 years later, Benny has been playing with various companies, performed on many stages and even got back where he started. How come? By helping people with no stage experience take their first steps into the theatre world. In 2023, Nina Stoffijn and Benny discovered that improvisational theatre was a good tool to empower young people. Thus - after a few try-outs - jup! vzw was born on 14 April 2023. Benny most enjoys the process of trying, making, failing and trying again.
