Amber Bosteels is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Since childhood she's having a huge passion for Indian dance, which continues to inspire her to this day. At the age of eighteen, she moved to Leeds, where she studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance for three years.
After completing her studies, she began freelancing as a dancer and creator, with an artistic practice spanning Belgium and India. In her dance, Amber blends contemporary dance with Indian dance forms. She has performed with companies such as Instant Dissidence, The Maya Sapera Dance Company, Trans-Form and BOHO Moves. She has also created her own work: ‘Jumping over the Zebra Stripes’ and ‘Hans en Tattva’.
Alongside her work as a performer, Amber shares her love of movement, with a focus on improvisation, playful movement, body awareness and imagination. In Ghent for instance, she helps coordinate the movement platform DEVLOER, a space for exchange, research and encounter.
