Pieter Chanterie lives and works in Brussels. His visual art tries to evoke stories that only exist in its visuals and which aren’t constructible into another language - just as the narrative within the circus tent. The far distance is close - like you’re in the same room as the one you’re staring at. The world knows its own and the same laws as the world it is living in - like the smallest gnome who lives in the biggest world. He creates books and paintings. The paintable image is searched for and contradicted with the narrative - like there is a party in the living room while people are having coffee and cookies in the kitchen.
