Mokhallad Rasem (1981) is an actor and director, born and educated in Baghdad. The war in Iraq turned his life around and since 2005 he has lived and worked in Belgium. His work is flashy, physical, associative and fragmentary. Since January 2013 until 2022, he was a "Toneelhuismaker". Whereas initially he worked mainly with a classical theatre repertoire, over time his approach became more and more documentary in nature. Projects like 'Body Revolution' and 'Soul Seekers' testify to a particular sensitivity to what displacement does to a person. Gripping, universal, stubborn and hopeful.
