Mathilde Cominotto

As a starting illustrator Mathilde Cominotto has taught many class groups. She teaches children, young people and adults the different aspects of the illustration world and visual arts. To Mathilde, illustration is more than just some images and speech bubbles, or a literal translation of words. It’s a narrative puzzle that needs to be put together and reveals its secrets piece by piece. The creation of a story is like game where the rules are determined by an exchange of spontaneous and well thought out elements, both in terms of shape, content and meaning. Every part can be seen as an autonomous work. There is no right or wrong way to tell a story and thát is the beauty of illustration.
