Marah Haj Hussein

Marah Haj is a Palestinian dance artist and maker based in Antwerp. She completed her bachelor of dance at the Antwerp Conservatory and her master of drama at KASK in Ghent. By merging these two disciplines, she questions the separation between text and movement and invariably looks for possible ways to allow them together in the performative space.

Marah participated in Dansad (2021), Love At First Sight Festival (2021+2022), and DanceWeb Scholarship Program (2019) as part of Impulstanz International Dance Festival. In her own work, she is often concerned with the concept of 'mother tongue' and the power dynamics that can arise between different languages. She currently performs as a dancer and performer in "Another Sacre" by Alain Platel and Berengere Bodin, "Colors" by Frank Dierens, and with her own solo performance "Language: No broblem".
