Maïté Baillieul

Maïté Baillieul (Ghent) obtained her degree in visual arts in 2005. She taught for nine years at the Luca School of Arts' teacher training program and immersed herself in art practices, the function of the image, artistic processes and socio-artistic practices. Her own artistic practice is characterized by associative movement between different disciplines; drawing, painting and writing to moving image and performance. Intuitive movements and thoughtful choices engage in dialogue to safeguard an encounter with the poet, artist, mother, melancholic, misanthrope, maker, writer, thinker, doubter, connector, lover,... within herself.
