Lukas Verstraete fills his graphic world with sweaty losers, grotesque women, doubting knights and miserable maniacs. In this world, he unleashes his doubts about our human nature and, mired in naiveté, greasiness, stereotypes and humor, tries to answer the purpose of our existence. His illustrations have been published in Humo, The New York Times, De Standaard, De Morgen, Bahamontes, Aline, Le Monde and others. In 2013, he received the award for best script at the Fumetto Comics Festival. In 2014, Lukas obtained his Master in Free Arts at the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, and since 2018 he also teaches at LUCA in Ghent as well as Brussels.
