Lies Lambrecht

Lies Lambrecht is a dancer, choreographer and yoga teacher. She studied at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), where she collaborated with dancers and choreographers such as Lisi Estaras and Mala Kline, and where she presented her first solo choreography.

She has collaborated with, amongst others, Marcel Leemann (Physical Dance Theater Company), Jan Lauwers (Needcompany) and Paul Blackman at the Vienna State Opera, Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker and Sasha Waltz & Guests during the Salzburg Festival. Alongside other projects, she is currently working with Toihaus Theater Salzburg.

'Negabsence (Echoes of Absence)' is her most recent production, which she created and performed together with her collective and musician Arnaud Soetens in Belgium, Austria and Italy. With her solo work 'Oh Bella!', she appeared at Dansen in ’t Park, amongst other venues. She is currently working on a new solo research project for an upcoming creation.

She shares her passion for dance as a guest teacher and guest choreographer at institutions including MUDA Kunstsecundair, Kunsthumaniora Brugge, Platform K, and DEVLOER (at BROEI), where, in addition to teaching classes and workshops, she also contributes to the vision and identity of the Ghent-based dance and movement platform.

In 2023, Lies was awarded the Culture Laureate prize for young talent in Lochristi, where she grew up.
