Katrien Oosterlinck

Katrien Oosterlinck (1984) designs 'game instructions' with a specific scenography for encounters between people. Her work focuses on space sensitivity: the search for an own and shared place, where body language is central. Her practice is not only about social interaction, but also about creating images through that interaction.

Katrien studied Dance Theatre in Tilburg and Open Atelier (Sint-Lucas) in Antwerp. In her own and shared artistic process, awareness and sensation are an essential part. In the form of performative workshops, spectators and participants are directed towards physical experience and plastic arrangement. To her, art is a tool for contact with one's own body, with others and with environmental factors. It creates a sense of commonality and a (current) social need.
