Ilse Carbonez

Ilse Carbonez walks, writes, watches and travels. In this, image and language are two of her companions de route. She loves everything to do with perceiving and looking deeply at a picture.

She studied Photography at KASK and worked as a guide at the arts education organisation RASA for many years. She currently teaches in Part-time Art Education and works freelance as a photographer and guide in the cultural sector. She remains fascinated by chance, drafts and unevenness.

Described as a poetic and tactile translation of the medium, her work invites one to learn to look with all the senses.
