Hanne Haverals

Hanne works very intuitively. The reason for a work can be banal or radical, personal or not, but always something that causes images to 'surface'. Those images are the starting point, the rest follows associatively. Her style is somewhat impetuous: layered, lush compositions and a colorful palette. Playing with contradictions in content and form, she manages to twist reality a little. Always inspired by symbols from various cultures, old tales, fairy tales, ... she tests them against her own environment. She likes to experiment with different materials and carriers: paper, wood, canvas, cork, plates, walls, windows, textile, salt dough, clay, paint, watercolor, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink,... It's all possible.
