Fanny Vandesande is a choreographer, performer and facilitator with a focus on somatic practices, inclusive movement and sensory exploration. She creates participatory trajectories that focus on senses, breathing and experience of space.
She is currently training as a Body-Mind Centering® practitioner with Janet Amato, Eva Maes, Christian Meier, among others, which further deepens her approach to movement development and bodily perception. A certified Ashtanga yoga teacher, she integrates breathing and mindfulness into her practice.
Fanny works permanently at Platform K and freelance for LEON.DANCE. She has performed at La Monnaie/De Munt and collaborated with the likes of Lisi Estaras, Sahar Rahimi and les ballets C de la B. Her work is often site-specific and focused on inclusive encounter.
Internationally, she shared her practice in Indonesia and South Africa, among others, where she maintains an enduring artistic collaboration with the Sibikwa Arts Centre.
