Eva Cools

Eva Cools is a film and television director and screenwriter, graduated in Audiovisual Arts at the Hogeschool Sint-Lukas Brussel. She has directed several short films, including Las Meninas and Alles komt terug, and directed music videos for Belgian artists such as Intergalactic Lovers and Mauro Pawlowski. Her debut film CLEO premiered at the 2019 Ghent Film Festival. In 2021, she directed the VRT NU series Bathroom Stories.

Eva's work emphasizes intimate stories, with complex (female) main characters, and focuses on challenging stereotypes within visual culture. Her visual style is characterized by progressiveness and directness, while being empathetic and self-aware. She is currently working on several scenarios for feature films and series.
