In this course, you will discover the timbre, your own timbre and the power of your unique voice.
Our natural voice is our innate voice with which we express emotions, thoughts and experiences. However, tension and stress can cause blockages. With attention to breathing and posture, you’ll learn to sing freely and effortlessly with your natural voice again. Among other things, the teacher Patricia uses the Indian sargam method. This helps you learn to feel the tonal distances in your body and make them your own. Moreover, you learn to harmonise with your own unique natural voice. Not only on tone, but especially by playing with voice timbre, dynamics and intention. Finally, you will face the challenge of drawing from your own strength when singing solo in front of a group during improvisations, sargam exercises and solo moments in songs from all over the world.
Cultuurhuis c o r s o is the new name of CC Berchem (at the same address). Please note that a course in this building sometimes changes classrooms. The teacher will notify you if this is the case!
Do you come by public transport?
From Antwerpen-Berchem station it is a 10 minute walk. You can also take the bus (line 21 or 32 to the stop 'De Villegastraat') or the tram (line 7 or 15 to the stop 'Berchem Driekoningenstraat' or line 9 or 11 to the stop 'Berchem Station').
Do you come by car?
Make sure to come in time, it usually takes a while to find a parking spot in this neighbourhood.
Come by foot, by bike or by public transport as much as you can!
