This is a one-afternoon meeting between musicians and illustrators with a small show moment at the end.
We start from the music to arrive at an image, but also turn it around: as live musicians, we play a graphic score.
A graphic score is an alternative and plastic form of musical notation. Do you render staccato in dots or chairs? Legato as a long coastline? Colour and shape become your musical composition. We approach the graphic score from different perspectives: musicians follow the artist's lines and colours, giving rhythm and timbre to images. Drawers transform music into colours, lines, shapes.
Since there are no strict conventions, anyone can hear a different piece of music in a graphic score.
We are already curious what will happen! You too?
Welcome!
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
