Ableton is not just another DAW or digital audio workstation, it is the favourite music creation tool of many artists, producers, DJs and beatmakers.
In this course, we will create electronic music in the broad sense of the word. Makers of all kinds of electronic genres are welcome.
We will delve into the creation process from A to Z and discuss plug-ins, (digital) synthesis, sequencers, and other tools. In this course, you will discover how to convert a loop into an arrangement, what makes your arrangement a real track, and when that track is then finished.
Recording acoustic instruments is not covered in the course itself, but you are of course free to add that to your production yourself.
We also delve deeper into associated technical skills. For instance, we will discuss how to make your sound/element fatter and thicker and how to blend your tracks together.
Spoiler alert: The answer does not simply lie in ‘compression’ and ‘EQ’.
Curious where it does lie then?
Welcome to this course!
Teachers Thomas and Reindert join forces for this hands-on course, after which you will go home with new, better tracks and the skills to make them at home later.
Participating with another DAW like Logic, Reaper... is possible, but keep in mind that you will have to make the translation yourself.
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
