Astrid is a performer, dance teacher and choreographer. She studied contemporary dance technique at Art Factory International and also instant composition and performance at TIP in Freiburg.
Following a tour with DNA Dance Company, she created her own works, such as ‘Tijdelijk Teder’, ‘Wildernis zonder naam’ and ‘Rain, No sand’. She also appears as a performer in ‘Chinò e il mare’ and in the work of Magali Laroy and Rodriguez Valcke.
Furthermore, she is deeply committed to socio-artistic projects. In 'ARCHIEF', for example, Astrid makes the relationships between different generations audible, visible and tangible to a wide audience. She is convinced that dancing is an act of art-making, a multi-layered process in which we can create something ‘greater’. She shares her contemporary dance practice with us every week, as well as at the movement platform DEVLOER and at Platform-K.
Finally, she also combines her socio-artistic work with production work, including for KAAP, Dance Day, Out of The Toolbox and the Santarcangelo Festival.
