Anna Schlooz (she/her, 1997) is an artist and theatre maker living and working in Ghent. She graduated as a theatre teacher in the Netherlands and completed studies in Performance Art in Ghent. Her work consists mainly of multimedia performances and participatory projects that play with the role of the spectator. She makes extensive use of video and movement. In her performances, she creates temporary worlds with an internal structure and logic, which wriggle away from deterministic thinking. In this, she draws inspiration from images from popular culture, science fiction, and being able to get lost in the possibilities of the future. From there, she wants to entice you to look at our world with curious eyes. This is therefore what is paramount in all her work: being, and staying, curious about everything around us.
