Chaos and inspiration often go hand in hand in a creative process. They drive each other, give each other depth, and keep each other in balance — a balance that is both powerful and fragile.

We use this balance to get started, to explore and to move forward. We draw inspiration from a wide range of sources: Greek mythology, bizarre medieval art, abstract artworks and the dreamlike universe of the surrealists.

Armed with this input, we dive into the creative process. We always start with drawings, but from there, we consciously open up to other techniques. For example, we work with printing techniques such as lino, assemble drawn collage elements, and explore different drawing media, including oil pastels, colored pencils, ink, and more.

We assemble mythological figures from different limbs, depict bizarre medieval situations, and express scenes between dreams and reality.

Practical

This session will be taught in English, but instructor Camilla can provide clarification in Dutch where necessary.
