Learning to draw is learning to see and, above all, learning to do!
Start the week with a challenge: in one Monday, we'll help you easily overcome that "I can't draw" hurdle.
Because drawing is so much more than a technically accurate representation of reality. We'll explore the ingredients that make up a drawing: the expressiveness of line, form, composition, and the use of light and dark. And what we can say with all this. Because there's so much to say about every crooked line, unintentional stain or smudge, or wobbly shape, and you'll open up a whole new world of expression.
In this course, we'll work from observation (yes, even through that dreaded still life) and gain tools to translate this onto our page. But more abstract exercises will also challenge you to rethink what drawing can still be.
We'll explore different materials such as graphite, charcoal, and ink.
We hope this one day will give you the desire to draw more freely on your own. Because learning to draw also means: lots of practice!
Check www.opek.be for more information about how to get here. At the first session, you will be welcomed by someone from WISPER who will tell you exactly where in/around the building your course takes place.
Good to know if you take a full-day course here: for the lunch break, you can bring your own lunch, eat in at Café Entrepot or buy something at the Lidl supermarket around the corner.
