Dear songwriter,

I have a question for you, or rather a suggestion. Something brand new at WISPER: not a course, not a jam; not a co-lab or studio session, not even a stage opportunity or residency. No, something totally different. I almost don't dare to ask, but would you happen to be interested to grab a few drinks with me?

Don't get me wrong. From previous courses and events, we've heard that songwriting is a solo art that can sometimes feel quite lonely. Something I completely identify with. Hence this proposal, this invitation even:

Why don't we, songwriters, just meet up and grab a few drinks? Let's get to know each other; with a beer, glass of wine or a snack. Let's listen, talk, play and, above all, write together. Everything goes around here!

We'll make it as cosy as possible: a snug corner, some dimmed lights and a drink of your choice. We'll philosophize about life, our desires and, of course, music. And who knows, in no time at all we might be strumming some chords off the top of our heads or write the most beautiful lyrics from our pens like waterfalls.

Is your desire to write songs uncontrollable and do you feel like coming over? Be my guest! Better yet, spread this message like a Facebook chain letter: if you know any slightly lonely musical souls who haven't seen the light of day in a while, bring them along too! Because the more the merrier.

I, Reindert, will be there to listen to your melodious dreams and ideas, and your words full of rhythm.
